A quick news blurb....just in case you are you in the mood for Starbucks on Cal Ave and Virginia, or perhaps tell a client in advance to meet there, like I just did....they are closed! They are permanently closed in this location and will be moving to developer Blake Smith's new Starbucks building just north of Liberty on the east side of Virginia Street.

Permits for 2 new Sticks buildings in midtown - 4179 and 2407 SF have been pulled. Also, a $1.5M permit for 777 Center. In addition, there's a $5M for a 32,000 SF integrated medical and education facility at 580 W 5th for Northern Nevada Hopes.

The long-delayed downtown Marriott-brand hotel slated for the now-vacant lot next to the Jones vargis Tower at 300 East Second Street, is finally moving forward. Permits were pulled on the project to the tune of $9 million. It will be four floors and feature 134 rooms. Click here for the permit details.

Local businesses take root in Northwest Reno! Though this is outside of my normal 1-mile zone coverage from downtown, it's a significant project worth mentioning, because I love the idea of extending local businesses out to big-box-ville, and gives residents of Northwest Reno a whole new array of shopping options.
