L & H Concrete and Metcalf Builders poured the Courtyard Marriott foundation at night on 2nd Street in downtown Reno. Concrete has always been a fascinating thing to me. In doing a few minor repair jobs such as rebuilding the steps in the front of my house, it's such a finicky building material to deal with. It must be mixed properly to avoid cracking or not setting properly, etc etc etc.
So, call me impressed when the foundation for an entire hotel is poured perfectly, as shown in the night photo below. Hats off to L & H Concrete and Metcalf Builders for setting the foundation for an entire hotel. It's not often a new project this size comes along in downtown Reno, it's probably pretty exciting to work on.
