Color Goes On 777 Center

The first glimpse of color on the 777 Center building, formerly Maytan Music located in midtown on the corner of Cheney and Center Street.

Jack Bacon Building Purchased by Former Owners of Little House On Center Street

The "Jack Bacon" building, located at 516 South Virginia, the terminus of California Avenue at Virginia Street, has been purchased by the former owners of Little House On Center Street, Alex and Esmeralda Long, and will become a restaurant with a focus on seafood, hopefully by August 1st.

You might have noticed tenant improvements happening at 100 California Ave, Suite 102. It will soon be home to a new unique store, something this retail corridor needs after losing several key retailers the past couple years.

SixFour Growlers Opens in Midtown

Reno’s first stand alone growler fill station opens today in Midtown at 555 S. Virginia St .#105. They will feature over 30 brews on tap from local and national brewing companies, all you need is a growler, which they can supply or you can bring your own. I have my trusty Silver Peak growler, would it be taboo to take it over and fill it up with other yummy beers? Heck no! Go check them out, they are in the same shopping center as Great Full Gardens, just as South Virginia downslopes into Midtown.

Mountain Music Parlor Grand Opening on Center Street

All was not lost when Maytan Music closed on Center Street. A new musical influence is having a grand opening April 25 from 4-8 pm at 735 South Center Street.  Mountain Music Parlor offers classes, concerts, jam sessions and workshops in traditional American musical styles (bluegrass, old time).

While perusing Midtown the other day I ran across this seemingly new business near Mandala Massage Supply Company. It's called Awake and Aging, and they offer everything from chakra cleansing to aromatherapy sessions, as well as offer up quite a few courses on their Facebook Page here. Check them out! They are located at 737 1/2 South Virginia.

Bernie Carter owns the building, and was converted from a crack den (a real quick den, where drugs were often delivered on mopeds) to a commercial duplex where the massage supply store and Awake and Aging are located.
