Siegel Group to Probably Acquire El Cortez Downtown
Siegel Group has had their eyes set on El Cortez for a while, as ReReno reported here months ago, but now it looks like the sale will be completed shortly.
13 Jun 2014Midtown: Drive-Thru or No Drive-Thru?
Being pushed through Reno Planning and City Council is a request for an alley abandonment for Pueblo Avenue surrounding the redevelopment project for Heritage Bank. This will allow for at least one drive through, possiby two, for this project, in a district designated as pedestrian-oriented development.
The Midtown Merc's are being awfully quiet about this, leading me to wonder if they are aware of it, or simply don't care/not on their radar.

Council Tidbits - New Casino on Virginia Street
Exciting news for Virginia Street as a new gaming license and alcohol app approval pops up next Wednesday for 237 and 241 North Virginia Street. Here's the Agenda. It is named 'Siri's Casino' in the agenda. Also interesting the applicant is Jeffrey Siri, who is President of Club Cal Neva.

So check out Edgewater at Virginia Lake. It's a large project that has been around a while, but like many others put on the back burner...or at least I remember seeing something about it before. It has turned up on the City of Reno's web for a recent planning review on August 13. Perhaps this project is being ressurected? It comprises the entire east side of Virginia Lake, and provides solid arguments in its tentative map documents to support it.

Midtown - Something Moving into Formerly Pink Building
Looks like Midtown will get a bit less romantic, and that's a good thing. Romantic Sensations closed a while back and now something new is moving in. But what? Anyone recognize this slogan?
