Restaurants, galleries and businesses in the downtown Reno Arts District are bustling every first Thursday because of Art Walk Reno.
On June 5, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., see the works of local and regional artists on display in venues within the Arts District, between Liberty Street and Second Street, and Virginia Street and Arlington Avenue. There are 15 stops, including Liberty Fine Arts Gallery, Sierra Arts Gallery, ArtSpace, and Metro Gallery inside City Hall. Alternative venues include Noble Pie Parlor, Singer Social Club, and Neapolitan Gallery, inside Ampersand.
The walk officially begins at 5 p.m. at Liberty Fine Art Gallery, 100 West Liberty Street. There, you can purchase a ticket, for $10, which includes a glass, raffle ticket and program for the evening. A limited-edition, hand-painted glass by Erik Holland is included in the $15 ticket. Each month, someone will walk away with a $200.00 voucher good towards any piece of art shown in the walk. There will be food and drink specials from participating businesses along the way.
The limited edition, signed and numbered print for this month is by local artist Erik Holland, and will be available for $40 at Liberty Fine Art Gallery. A portion of all proceeds from Art Walk Reno will be donated to non-profit groups focused on art, education, and community. This month, they are partnering with Rainshadow Charter School.
