Back in December 2022, Whitney Peak submitted a series of permits, some of them withdrawn, to remodel most of the hotel and all of the hotel rooms.

At the time, there were rumors and speculation as to why they wanted to remodel, and I heard some whispers from former employes there, but I think I may have discovered why.
I discovered a reservation page on Hilton's web site for Whitney Peak Hotel, labeled as the 'Tapestry Collection.'
It looks like the hotel will keep the Whitney Peak name, but under the Hilton brand. According to the page, it will accept reservations under the new brand starting January 29, 2024.
