Permits! Let's check them out:
Mill Street Lofts
Mill Street Lofts is moving fast, pulling their BIG permit for the first phase of their project, which includes 26 units, on three stories at 560 Mill Street. The remaining units will be in a second phase, and be sumitted within a few weeks o the city for permits. This project is going on the 500 block of Mill Street, a block down from Atomik City and Whipple Distillery. The permits reads:
MILL STREET LOFTS
APARTMENT BUILDING. CONSTRUCT 26 UNIT 3 STORY APARTMENT BUILDING INCLUDING SITE WORK, UTILITIES, AND LANDSCAPING, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL
You can view renderings of Mill Street Lofts in the gallery below. Even though the permit says apartments, they will actually be condos.
Circus Circus
You might have read here in the RGJ and when I reported on here, the three downtown casinos have been busy getting permits. Circus Circus filed another one for the casino level to demo some interior walls in preparation for tenant improvements. The permit reads:
CIRCUS CIRCUS
INTERIOR DEMOLITION. CASINO LEVEL NON-STRUCTURAL INTERIOR ONLY DEMOLITION. TI PLANS TO FOLLOW UNDER SEPARATE COVER. DEMOLITION LIMITED TO SPECIFIED AREAS OF INTERIOR WALLS AND CEILINGS.
Other permits filed for Circus Circus include remodeling/improvements to the William Hill Race and Sports Book, including new finishes and a new betting counter, upgrades to exterior tower lighting, the Courtyard Buffet, the Coffee Bar, the entire Midway, and the Boneyard Catina.
The Eldorado has filed permits as well as the Silver Legacy. A Canter's Deli is coming to the Siver Legacy.
The Virginian - Siegel Group
Siegel Group filed for a permit for improvements to the exterior of the Virginian. Specifically, the permit reads:
REMODEL/ADDITION. ADD NEW ENTRY CANOPY AND COLUMNS AT CENTER PORTION OF EXISTING FACADE.
1039 South Virginia Street
Permits continue to stream in for 1039 South Virginia Street, which is being renovated to become this.
1350 and 1355 North Virginia Street
Demolition permits have been issued for homes on these lots, which I hear is part of a larger project that involves the whole block.
