Council to discuss demolishing police station, building fire station downtown

In their upcoming March 8 council meeting, the Reno City Council has two items on the agenda concerning demolishing the old police station on 2nd Street, presumably as soon as they move into their new safety center, and then funding the design of a fire station to go in its place. Yay that's exciting! According to city documents, the fire station would be completed by 2027. The funding plan for an estimated $50 million would extend through mid 2024, along with design finalization, and also when the Moana Pool is to be completed. 

According to the timeline, construction could start mid 2025, and be complete by 2027.
