Yoga Shack - Cal Ave - Reno

Bruka Theater

Everything from candlelight Yoga to the intense but effective Power Yoga, this yoga center, located on bustling Cal Ave just south of downtown, was voted #1 yoga place in Reno. Founded in 1998, Yoga Shack focuses on Power Yoga, based on the ancient tradition of Ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga is a carefully formulated series of poses that provide a vigorous balanced yoga workout. The series maximizes yoga's cleansing, strengthening, and toning effects. In Power Yoga classes, the series is shortened and modified to provide the same thorough workout in a shorter period of time. It is also modified to better suit beginning yoga students.

I have frequented the Yoga Shack several time, however not as often as I probably should. I am one of those solo yoga guys....I took a class a long time ago in Kundalini yoga, which is similar to power yoga in intensity, and ever since then I have a little spot in my backyard that's perfect...but for those that prefer routine classes this is the place for you. You can't miss the purple building at 214 California Avenue.
