Tahoe Roasting Company

This place opened up in October kind of silently, with little press or fanfare, yet is one of the best places to get a good cup of Joe in Reno.
The first reason why I like this place is they have 100% Kona Coffee. Many coffee houses sell Kona coffee beans, but they are rarely 100% Kona beans. Why is this? Kona beans are expensive, because they are grown differently than regular beans, in the Kailua-Kona area of the Big Island in Hawaii. I went to several of these coffee farms on my visit to Hawaii.
The second reason I love this place is they are obsessive about coffee. Ask the guy behind the counter about his tracking system for creating perfect blends of beans and roasting times/amounts etc. Someone who is truly into his craft that much will undoubtedly produce a premium cup of coffee. Like french press? No problem, watch in amazement as they make single cups of coffee using this method.
They also sell goodies and have free wi-fi. Go check em out! They roast their own beans.

I have also had the chance to stop by Tahoe Roasting Company and have to say I agree with the first poster. What really impressed me was their white coffee. I had a mocha with that instead of regular espresso and I found my new favriote drink. The guy behind the counter reccomended it for me since I don't like the taste of coffee but do enjoy the caffiene. Like I said I was very impressed with the coffee and the service provided!

They also have an open mic night on Wednesdays that is getting pretty good...I think it is from 6-8pm but they tend to stay open until everyone has had a chance to preform. Such a cute little place. I love the vibe and atmosphere.Plus the coffee is awesome!

This is a great alternative to mainstream coffee shops. The owner really knows his beans.

Not only do they have wonderful coffee and a great atmosphere, but their breakfast and lunch orders are each individually made by hand. The always amazing soup is truly home made daily by the mother of one of the owners. Bring in your broken sunglasses for their collection and you get 1 free small coffee! My office has stopped buying our coffee from Crystal Springs and we now enjoy "The Best Coffee on the Planet" from the TRC!
