This plan looks comprehensive and could could be a good road map to making downtown vibrant and dynamic. Hopefully, we can start to implement the strategy soon and get beyond the endless analysis. The most important challenge is to address the homeless and panhandling issue in a strong and permanent fashion. It is by far the number one complaint of visitors to the area and is a major deterrent to repeat visitation. It also prevents businesses and residents from moving into the downtown area. Without addressing the homeless issue all of the other efforts will fall flat.

Reno need to partner with the DT casinos to improve the pedestrian experience in the casino district, ask them to bring some of the store out front and clean up the rift raft right outside their doorsteps.

Agree about the casinos, particularly now that the Carano's own the Big 3. I know part of the business model is to keep people inside, but it would be much better for business and tourism if Virginia Street was nice and vibrant. The 5 block dead zone between the university and downtown could be improved so much if the casinos did something. I'm also really hoping the Standard at Reno student housing development actually happens. That would be a great start at improving the area.

I'm hearing the various properties for The Standard project have for new sale signs on them now? Anyone know what the story is on The Standard project currently is?

I don't see any mention about the casino role in this action plan. Downtown would be much more vibrant if the casinos improved their streets-capes.
