I got the chance to watch flights coming into Reno at 5pm. Excuse me, flights make approaches and then veering off due to the excessive wind speeds. I am glad I was on the ground today.

I went to the RGJ website and they don't mention anything about downtown and damage. What is the "Montage mess" that you mention?

What happened to the Montage in the storm? Nothing in the paper so far.

Well I can say what I saw first hand....which is all of the white sheeting around the Montage's lower 6 floors ripped and blew off, exposing the not-yet-enclosed floors which blew insulation, siding, coverings, and anything not bolted down all over Sierra Street, which closed Sierra Street temporarily, although I don't know how long it stayed closed. It was a mess! I don't think any permanent hardcore damage was done to the Montage, looking at it from the outside today the windows looked intact. Channel 4 news happened to be down there and caught most of it on tape. On the plus side, with all the white sheeting torn off, we could see that construction of the lower 6 floors is progressing nicely! Especially on the northern side of the building, where glass has even been installed.

Run out of duct tape for the fence? A rather large tree lost a large branch that landed on car across the street.. I also saw a flying cow.
