There's a library downtown? haa haa. I'm sorry, but with the new IGT Knowledge Center set to open next semester, this seems a little ridiculous to try and do. I know, not everyone can use the UNR facilities, but most the people who need a library will probably use the one on campus due to how up to date and tech friendly it is.

Danny it's pretty ignorant to think that just because the University is getting a knowledge center, that we don't need a library downtown for the 80% of us who aren't UNR students who still like to read. Do you think that only UNR students require or enjoy a library? That's almost as ignorant. Do you know how many children's programs the downtown library is involved with? Obviously not. Did you know nearly all of the Knowledge Center's features are only for students? Obviously not. Perhaps use your knowledge center to look up the benefits of a community library.

Danny -- public libraries and academic libraries are two very different things. I doubt very much that the new Knowledge Center will offer very much in the way of children's storytimes, the latest graphic novels for teens, the latest fiction and non-fiction for pleasure reading, free internet access for everyone, free computer classes, special interest programs for adults, Spanish and other non-English materials for all ages, or a host of other resources and services provided by public libraries. I suggest you check out your nearest branch just for fun!
