Wild Garlic downtown may have closed permanently, but The Coconut, a Thai restaurant, will reside in the same building, at 170 South Virginia in the northeast corner, according to permits filed.
In the next council meeting, this restaurant is applying for an alcohol permit, which is where I first learned of them.
Some quick digging shows this restaurant already has a presence in Sacramento, and an avid following as well. Yelp shows a five-star rating for their River Park location in Sac, from 82 reveiwers Must be good!
Here's their web site. The web site states a Reno location is 'coming soon.' Sometimes, content on a web site is slow to update, so this place 'may' already be open. Not sure. I'll go scout it out next time I hit up State Street.
