Permit Filed for Apartment Complex Downtown

by Mike Van Houten / Aug 1, 2017

A permit is in plan review for 'Riverside Park Apartments' - for three buildings at 14 Park Street, and I'm guessing will go on the empty lot portion fronting the river.

You can see an overhead view of the address here. Or a Street View here

It's an interesting terminus of a street. Park Street terminates where the apartments would be built, with access to the bike path, river and adjoining park. There are a couple of small cute homes on the street, an empty lot, and quite a few other apartment complexes.

Here are the permit breakdowns:

- RIVERSIDE PARK APARTMENTS. NEW CONSTRUCTION. BUILDINGS 1 & 2 CONSISTS OF 28 UNITS. STUDIO AND 1 BEDROOM UNITS.

- RIVERSIDE PARK APARTMENTS LLC BLD 3 - NEW CONSTRUCTION. BUILDING 3 CONSISTS OF 12 ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT UNITS. SECOND FLOOR UNITS CONTAIN LOFT. DECK OCCURS AT LOFT LEVEL.

- RIVERSIDE PARK APARTMENTS, LLC. - GRADING. SITE CLEARING AND IMPORT/EXPORT GRADING OF FILL MATERIAL.

Exactly the kind of relatively dense infill of smaller units that Reno needs. Given the river and bike proximity I'd expect these to be really popular, and hopefully reduce some of the camping that currently happens in the area.

"Reduce some of the camping" is maybe the wrong verb. More like "Move some of the camping". Nonetheless, this is probably a good spot for some infill and apartments.
