RED puts three parcels up for sale

by Mike Van Houten / Oct 2, 2026

A new LOOPNET ad shows that the Reno Experience District, the 40+ acre development on the corner of Plumb and Virginia, extending south to Grove, has put three of their vacant lots up for sale as a package.

Originally going to be a tech campus and then pivoting to additional residential, RED has apparently decided to throw in the towel with any further new development of these two lots (aside from the Electric Pickle). There is a rumor of additional housing on the lot north of Emory, which is perhaps why it wasn't included in the package.

RED had applied for TIF financing for both retail and multi-family residential, but then backed out of the multi-family residential phases, and is reportedly still retooling the application to build out additional retail spaces and the Electric Pickle.
