Meet Center + Pine - The Former Center Lodge

by Mike Van Houten / May 16, 2016

Check out renderings and details of the proposed 'Center + Pine' at 200 South Center Street, the former Center Lodge. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cool.

This poor building has gone through the ringer. After going through a partial demolition, work halted on the project, and any remaining items of value were stripped/stolen off the property, and it remained one of south downtown's worst eyesores for months, complete with broken windows, halfway-exposed gutted interior, and fading paint.

Well, look below at what it's about to become! Urban Investments, helmed by Paddy Egan and Joe Udvare, has partnered with Victor & Allyson Rameker at Desert Wind Homes and are rehabbing the brick bldg with See See motor coffee of Portland Oregon, the liquor store with another tenant and the Center Street Lodge. Urban investments is responsible for the super cool mixed-use development at Winter and Riverside Drive, where Dorinda's Chocolates, The Hub, and Beaujalais Bistro call home, among others. They also recently finished developing 941 North Virginia, with a host of businesses including a coffee shop, juice bar, and bike shop.

The architect is Jeff Frame from Frame Architecture

The plan calls for 24 high end lofts and a 2960+ restaurant space on the ground floor. Click any image below for a high-resolution version.

They hope to submit building permits next month.

Best timing for a project like this. If Renaissance was not coming I'd say a project like this would be questionable. Hope projects like these move east and renovate the area south of the river and the Auto Museum and new Renaissance.

Never a good sign when the designs say "RESTAURANT".
