From RGJ:
The 70,000 sf museum is expected to open in late 2011. It will feature a new lobby addition to the building, cafe, dining room, museum store, and exhibit spaces. The architect is Haizlip Studio, award-wining designer of other children's museums.
There will be Eight interactive exhibits for children: Cloud Climber, Build It!, Da Vinci's Corner, The Works, Little Discoveries, Under the Stars, Truckee Connects and Nevada Stories.
The museum is designed for children ranging from babies to 12 year olds.
The museum is expected to be open seven days a week. The cost of admission will be under $10. Annual family memberships have been set at $100. The museum plans to work with the Washoe County School District so children who receive free lunches can attend.
The museum is expected to employ about 30 full-time workers. An economic study estimates it will generate tourism dollars, accounting for about 20,000 lodging room nights a year.
