Whitney Peak Hotel Files for Permits

by Mike Van Houten / Aug 7, 2013

Whitney Peak Hotel has finally filed permits for renovation of the former Fitzgerald's Hotel and Casino. Though CommRow initially opened with a completed first, second and third floor, the hotel has not re-opened since it closed as Fitzgerald's Hotel Casino in 2008. If you can believe it, it's been five long years.

CommRow's first initial concept was several eateries and drink venues on the first floor, the climbing gym on the second floor, and an event space on the third floor. However after being open only 5 months, the first and third floors were shut down for a reconfiguration. Biggest Little Burger and Beach Hut Deli were opened briefly before being shut down for a large-scale renovation of the entire property.

BaseCamp, the property's climbing facility featuring a 200-foot climbing wall, remained open during the renovations.

Here is the permit doc. Their goal is to open in 2014.
