Reno has the Awful Awful, and now it looks like we get the Awesome Awesome. I'm a really tough nut to please, but the Discovery Museum blows me away. I want to be 10 years old again so I can play here. I'm searching for a neighbor's kid to take to the grand opening so I can be there and not look like a total perv. Who knew that after her 3 Hour Tour, Mary Anne would be the game changer for the future of Reno?

I am so excited for this! My son is 2, but I'm pretty sure my boyfriend will have more fun than he will, or any kid there, really!

This is a big plus for our education system. Impressive. The exhibits seem much more mentally stimulating than some of the other museums I have visited like Carson's and Chicago's.

Yes! Not only is the project itself exciting... this is a game changer for our region. High quality investment in our children is something we can all be proud of.

As a kid growing up near Portland, I couldn’t get enough of Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). Being exposed to various fields of science and technology outside of the classroom environment had a significant impact on who I am and what I wanted to do (and do) for a living (earth & social sciences). The move of OMSI from Washington Park to the East bank of the Willamette River in the early 90’s had a positive economic impact on the once abandoned industrial corridor, although I do miss the giant human heart that you could walk though! While our political leaders are more interested in the bottom line rather then the quality of education, this is exactly what is needed to keep kids engaged and is a move in the right direction for the continuing efforts to revitilize our downtown. The kid in me can’t wait to visit, bravo!
