Thomas Y. Johnson, Managing Director of Sperry Van Ness has completed the purchase of the 24,468 square foot Maytan Music building located at 777 South Center Street in Reno, NV. The property was purchased in conjunction with his wife, Linda Johnson, as part of the Johnson Family Revocable Trust. The couple along with their daughter Tomi Jo Lynch, an associate at Sperry Van Ness, are working on plans for a major renovation and retrofit of the landmark midtown property. The concept is to create a first class mixed use development, consisting of restaurant, retail, and office, while still maintaining the art-centric trendy Midtown feeling and tenant mix. A conceptual floor plan and rendering of the project are in the works and should be ready for release shortly. The transaction also included the parcel located on the corner of Virginia Street & Cheney; there are no plans to develop this lot at the current time.

Good to see that this property won't be vacant for too long. This is in the heart of Midtown and, while it is a shame that Maytan is leaving Reno, that this area will continue to add to the development of this part of the city. It's certainly an exciting time to be in Reno.
