275 Hill

275 Hill, a new restaurant opening up at 275 Hill Street, has posted their menu and web site. Looks yummy, check it out! I hear they will open as early as this week. Click here to check it out.

Longtime restaurateur Brett Rosselli is opening a new restaurant in downtown Reno called 275 Hill – its actual address. Located on the corner of Hill and Ridge Streets, the three story building was recently rehabilitated by AMH Properties and features a contemporary wrap around patio area and several large windows. 275 Hill will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner beginning at 6:30 am. Until 10:00 p.m. – 7 days a week.

Outside patio dining will be a highlight during the day and evening and the restaurant is planning wine dinners, along with a wine tasting every Wednesday and a Thursday’s, “Thirsty Thursday” Happy Hour. 275 Hill will be starting with over 400 wine selections and will be available from the extensive wine list. Wine will also be available for purchase at retail. The bar will serve specialty cocktails and martinis, wine and a large beer selection. Local businesses will appreciate a separate meeting room for hosting breakfast, lunch or dinner meetings.

Stopped by yesterday and had a beer and duck confit pizza during their soft opening. Sat at the bar with my wife and was quite pleased with the ambiance, service, and food. The renovation of the building is excellent. We look forward to see them settle into the neighborhood.

Just met up with a friend after work here - sat at the bar and ordered wine, steamed mussels and the cucumber salad. The toasted bread with the mussels was perfect to sop up the white wine cream sauce. Delish. Wonderful, attentive staff and great food. In fact, the bartender was mixing up an interesting concoction which, after we asked about it, gave us a sample. So glad to see a new addition to a fun Reno neighborhood. Can't wait to go back and try something new. Spread the word!

Having heard many good things about this new restaurant, we stopped in for Sunday breakfast. It was a very disappointing experience. The service was poor right from the start, and continued throughout the meal. Instead of being asked, we had to stop our waitress or the only busgirl numerous times to ask for the essential s(water, salt and pepper, more coffee, etc) We also asked about the $3.99 breakfast specials we saw on the website and were told that it was only valid Mon – Fri, which was NOT stated on the website. Just to wrap up an already frustrating experience, a couple seated right next to us as we were paying our bill asked about the same special, and were told “Sure! Here are the items to choose from”. When we asked our server about it, she copped a terrible attitude and took us to the owner, who also responded with a similar arrogant attitude that it was only for those on their email list. Never once did anyone suggest we sign up to be on that email list or apologize for any misunderstanding. If the food was great, we might try it again and hope they work out the service issues. However, the food was just ok. The Wild Boar Omelet tasted of onions and green peppers, with no bacon flavor at all. We won’t be back…there are too many other restaurants with great service and tasty food in this town

It closed on the 16th from what I hear. Good food, downright disappointing service with an attitude. The cream (better places) rises to the top.

re: "Posted by: Brett - 1/23/2011 12:24:35 AM Brett Rosselli who owned 275 Hill Restaurant, closed due to being evicted per court documents." This doesn't say anything until you know what the court documents gave as the reason for the eviction. If it was for failure to pay rent or to keep the property insured, that's one thing. If it was a "no cause" termination because the owner of the building had other plans for the space, that's entirely different. What do the documents say?

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I've heard horrible stories about this place including friends being ripped off during the wine walk because the owner was selling fake maps and then refusing to give back money.

Its sad that 275 Hill Street went under, its such a wonderful location. I have a strong feeling that an experienced Chef from Reno is going to turn that place into something new and innovative that Reno needs.

Due to past history, Rosselli was evicted due to past rent.

What do you mean by past history? Has Brett had other evictions?

During the May 21-22 weekend, although 275 Hill was closed for business, there was activity inside the restaurant and one of the workers mentioned that they are planning to reopen in the first half of June. No other information is known, but I would guess that new management is in place.

The word on the street is that a European gentleman named Nigel is part owner with the landlord Alex. Its going to be a lunch restaurant and possible breakfast too. I hope their dinner is much better! The new name is going to be Hill Street Grill. Its crazy how word gets around!
