Nevada Chapter of American Planning Association

9/6/09 - The Nevada Chapter of the American Planning Association is having their annual conference at the Silver Legacy Resort downtown. I haven't yet met any of the planners on the Board of the APA, but judging from the topics at their conference, I can tell I'd get along along with them just fine. For those of us into planning and redevelopment, there are some fascinating topics, including a case study on the Baseball Deal, Multi-Modal Transit Planning, Urban Whitewater Recreation, and my favorite topic title, Leveraging Lazy Bureaucrats and Aggressive Business People to Get Vegas Green.

I love it when an organization pops out of the blue and happens to engage in the same topics I follow. I read a dozen or so urban planning blog feeds, including Ken's up in Seattle. I discovered the Downtown Improvement Association in the same manner.

Here is the flyer and registration form for anyone interested in attending.
