Thoma Lofts back in the loop?

7/7/09 - Well isn't this interesting? Look who is popping up before the Planning Commission Meeting on July 8. It's our long temporarily-lost friends Thoma Lofts! Of course, this doesn't mean anything will be built any time soon, but it does mean they are submitting a tentative map, the first one for a mid-town/downtown project in a looong time so let's bask in it's sacred glowyness. Ok that's stretching it, but still, let's take a look.

They are re-submitting the project in the same basic form as before, however they want a variance regarding front yard setbacks and landscape buffers. In the Staff Report, the Neighborhood Advisory Council had mixed comments about the project, wishing that the live/work units could be restaurant/retail instead of offices...but to me this defeats the concept of live/work units. What, are you going to run a restaurant out of the bottom of your live/work unit? I don't think so. Anyway, we'll see where this project heads yes.
