Upcoming Meetings
There are some very interesting items coming up for downtown in the next week or so. STAR Bond Districts, a possible bike vault network for downtown if grant money comes through for Secure Storage Technologies, more land exchange discussion. I put the highlights below, however the agendas themselves are quite large and I encourage you as always to see what else is on the agendas that might be important to your neighborhood, no matter what neighborhood you live in.

To consider
the Fiscal and Economic Impact Analyses of the proposed Tessera Project and
the financing thereof pursuant to Chapter 271A of Nevada Revised Statutes;
whether the Project and the financing thereof pursuant to Chapter 271A of
Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) will have a positive fiscal effect on the
provision of local governmental services and that the Project will benefit the
proposed “Tourism Improvement District” (TID) to be created under Chapter
271A for the purpose of assisting in the financing of the Project; further, to
determine that (a) as a result of the Project: (1) retailers will locate their
businesses as such in the District, and (2) there will be a substantial increase
in the proceeds from sales and use taxes remitted by retailers with regard to
tangible personal property sold at retail, or stored, used or otherwise
consumed in the District; and (b) a preponderance of that increase in the
proceeds from the sales and use taxes will be attributable to transactions
with tourists who are not residents of the State of Nevada.

J.2 Staff Report: Presentation, discussion and acceptance of Proposal for a Bike Vault Network in Downtown Reno by Secure Storage Technologies LLC contingent on grant funding and direction to staff to bring back a contract for Council approval and award once grant funding is secured.

Redevelopment Agency Board Meeting - June 24th - 2:00 p.m. - 1 East First Street
B.4 Staff Report: Update, discussion and potential direction to staff regarding the approval of Wood Rodgers as the Consultant for the South Virginia Street Streetscape Improvement Plan in an amount not to exceed $100,000. This is concerning streetscaping Virginia Street from Liberty down to possibly the convention center, with sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and benches.
B.5 Staff Report: Update, discussion and possible direction to staff on the possible property exchange with Golden Eagle Industries and the Redevelopment Agency. This is regarding the large mass of land Golden Eagle owns in northeast downtown in the general area of South Virginia to Evans and from 5th to 7th Streets. Golden Eagle Industries and the RDA have a mutual interest in trading Golden Eagles land for RDA-owned land along the ReTRAC project.
B.10 Staff Report: Presentation of the Fiscal Impact and Economic Impact Analyses of the proposed use of STAR Bonds for the Freight House District by Meridian Business Consultants. This item was continued from the June 10, 2009 Joint Reno City Council and Redevelopment Agency Board meeting.
B.11 Staff Report: Presentation of the Fiscal Impact and Economic Impact Analyses of the proposed use of STAR Bonds for the Tessera Project by Meridian Business Consultants.

B.12, B12.1, B12.2 - All have to do with the CitiCenter parcel acquisition and lease-back. Even though the Redevelopment Agency is acquiring it now, they must lease the property to RTC so CitiCenter can continue to operate until the new 4th Street Transit Station is complete.
C.1 Staff Report: Discussion, direction, and potential authorization to staff to take all necessary and appropriate steps to procure and award an exclusive authorization to Lease Agreement for the West Street Market.
